This position requires the ability to understand customer requirements and develop software applications to satisfy these requirements.  Primary emphasis is the distribution of environmental and defense intelligence satellite, geospatially enabled and other data from multiple sources. All data and applications conform to ISO and Department of Defense data and dissemination standards/specifications.  Position requires the ability to work across Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems and platforms.  Data is distributed over world wide web networks utilizing eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and HyperText Markup Language HTML methodologies.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant technical field (Required).
• Minimum of 2 years of programming experience using Python, Java, and C++, C #, PHP or similar languages (Required).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using Windows, Linux, or Unix based platforms (Required).
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance (Required).

• Basic knowledge of scientific datasets such as NetCDF and HDF
• Experience developing with Cascading Style Sheets, HTML and XML
• Experience developing software applications using Java, Python, JavaScript; C++, C# or PHP
• Experience in developing web browsers utilizing IE, FireFox, and Safari
• Experience setting up and maintain web servers utilizing Apache, Zope, Twisted, and Tomcat
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
• Experience with weather and oceanographic datasets is highly desired.
