Position Description:
Serve as a research engineer assisting in the development, evaluation, and testing of new composite materials and related structures to be investigated in support of high temperature polymer composites (HTPC) for space and missile defense technology applications. Serves as a team member working at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) on the development and application of High Temperature Polymer Composites. Technical efforts will include assisting in the preparation of materials for evaluation, testing for physical and thermal properties, recording and translating test results, and reporting findings to team leaders and associated team members.
Responsibilities will include participation in research activities with other engineers, scientists and technicians assigned to support the HTPC program, report to team leaders and program managers as required.
As a Radiance research engineer working in Hattiesburg, MS, the incumbent will perform work under the guidance of the Radiance Hattiesburg Senior Engineer to perform subcontract tasks as the USM Principle Investigator may require. Support other space and missile defense materials related product development and tests at Radiance, other contractor and /or government sites as may be required.
