Position Description:
Personnel will work at the Blackfeet Nation Industrial Facility, Browning, MT, on the Adaptive Lightweight Material (ALM) for Missile Defense research and development project. Duties will encompass operating, maintaining and advancing the ALM test-bed under the supervision of scientists and engineers of Radiance Technologies and their support personnel. Major tasks will include: setting up composite feeder materials (creels of fiberglass and carbon filaments), specialized resins, and other unique advanced composite materials; mixing non-hazardous chemical formulations that will be integrated into the test-bed; installing, maintaining and replacing composite pultrusion dies; calibrating and monitoring the curing process; adjusting and monitoring the pulling station and cut-off saws and equipment. Personnel will also be employed in supporting limited fabrication, testing and analysis of pultruded composite materials products; warehousing, storage and accountability of supplies for the testbed; and routine preventative maintence of the ALM test-bed and the industrial facility/building itself.
